"How much is this, and does it actually work?"
It is the first honest question any practice owner asks when we bring up an AI agent. And it is the right one. A dentist does not want a tech toy; they want to know whether the investment comes back, and how fast.
At Catalizadora we would rather answer with numbers than with promises. Here is the full breakdown, no fine print.
The hook: what the agent does that earns its cost
Before the price, the result. The AI agent lives inside your practice's WhatsApp and does the work that slips through your fingers today:
- Replies instantly at any hour, including nights and Sundays.
- Tells an emergency apart from a routine cleaning and prioritizes accordingly.
- Books the appointment straight into your calendar.
- Sends a payment link when you charge a deposit.
- Logs every conversation in your CRM so nothing gets lost.
The value is not "having a bot". It is no longer losing the new patient who messages when nobody can answer.
How much an AI agent costs for a dental practice
We work in three tiers, depending on the size and ambition of the project:
MAGIA Solo — $4,500 USD, delivered in 15 days
The entry point, and the one we recommend to most practices. It includes the WhatsApp AI agent in your clinic's voice, calendar connection, payment link, and CRM. Up and running in two weeks.
MAGIA Core — $15,000 USD
For clinics with several locations or more complex flows: multiple doctors, multiple services with different logic, integrations into more systems. A more robust system around the same agent.
Forge — $20,000 USD, 12 weeks
For dental groups that want a fully custom platform, with deep development over three months.
The cost that recurs (and the one that does not)
Here is the part that surprises people most: after delivery, there is no retainer and no monthly license from Catalizadora. The only thing you pay is the real operating cost —hosting and AI usage— which for a typical practice lands around $200 to $400 USD a month. We do not mark that up: it is a direct pass-through from the provider, and you see the real invoice.
And the code, data, and infrastructure stay 100% in your name. If you ever decide to run it yourself, you take everything with you.
Is it worth it? Let us do the math
Compare it against the obvious alternative: hiring someone to cover WhatsApp during the hours that currently go uncovered.
A part-time receptionist runs about $400 to $800 USD a month, plus training, benefits, and the cost of turnover. Over a year that is $4,800 to $9,600 USD, and it still does not cover full nights and Sundays.
The AI agent: $4,500 USD once, plus $200-400/month to operate. In the first year the total lands around $6,900 to $9,300 USD —similar to a part-time receptionist— but from the second year on you only pay the operating cost, while the salary repeats in full every single year.
The real math, though, is not about cost: it is about recovered patients. If your practice charges, say, $80 USD for a consultation and the agent recovers two new patients a month who used to walk because nobody answered, that is $160 USD a month that does not exist today. Recover three or four a month and the whole equation changes. The investment pays for itself with a handful of appointments that would otherwise have been lost.
When it is NOT worth it
We will be straight with you: if your practice gets almost no WhatsApp messages, or if you already have someone answering well around the clock, the agent adds little. The agent shines when there is demand arriving after hours that is being lost. If that is your situation, the decision is easy.
The invisible cost almost nobody adds up
There is one expense that shows up on no payroll: the patient who walked away. Every unanswered message is an appointment that did not happen, and often a patient who would have stayed for years. In dentistry a patient is not worth a single consultation; they are the twice-a-year cleanings, the orthodontics, the crown, the family visits. Losing the new patient at that first consultation means losing the whole relationship. That invisible cost is usually bigger than any salary comparison, and it is exactly what the agent recovers.
How we build it
We use the MAGIA methodology: Mapping, Architecture, Generation, Implementation, and Autonomy. First we understand your scheduling flow and the questions you get most; then we build the agent in your clinic's voice; and we hand it over working. To help patients find you in search, we apply a proprietary technical layer that feeds that same WhatsApp. The full MAGIA Solo process takes 15 days, and at the end the asset is yours: no retainers, no dependence on us.
The next step
The most honest way to know whether it is worth it for your practice is to put real numbers on it: how many messages you get, how many go unanswered, and what a new patient is worth to you.
Message us on WhatsApp to see a demo of the agent, or book 30 minutes with Pablo Estrada at https://cal.com/pablo-estrada-hlqaql and we will run the math together with your data.
