The right question isn't "how much does it cost"
The right question is: how much is it costing you not to have it? Every guest who messages your hotel after hours and gets no reply is a room that books somewhere else. That leak shows up in no report, but it's there every single day.
Still, before you invest you need real numbers. At Catalizadora we don't sell endless subscriptions or surprises on the invoice. Here are the exact costs of putting an AI agent in your lodging business's WhatsApp, and how to think about whether it's worth it for your case.
What you're buying
An AI agent for a hotel isn't "a chatbot." It's a system that handles WhatsApp 24/7 in your brand's voice: it answers availability and rates, qualifies the guest, takes the reservation, sends the payment link, and logs every conversation in your CRM. It's the front-desk agent that never sleeps, never takes a vacation, and never forgets to ask for the email.
That's why comparing it to "a $20-a-month chatbot" misses the point: those answer FAQs and little else. What we build closes bookings and organizes your guest information. It's a piece of your operation, not a widget on your website.
The real costs, no fine print
We split it into two parts: what you pay once to build it, and what you pay to keep it running.
Build: one time
We have three tiers, depending on the size of your operation:
- MAGIA Solo — $4,500 USD, delivered in 15 days. The entry point. WhatsApp agent in your brand's voice, CRM, and the visibility layer. It's what most small and mid-sized hotels and lodgings need to get started.
- MAGIA Core — $15,000 USD. For larger operations or several flows: multiple properties, deeper integrations, additional automations.
- Forge — $20,000 USD, 12 weeks. When you need a fully custom system, built from scratch around your operation.
Operation: monthly, with no markup from us
Here's the most important difference from almost any software vendor. We don't charge a retainer or a monthly license. The operation is pass-through: you pay only hosting and usage tokens, typically $200 to $400 USD a month, straight to the providers, with no Catalizadora markup on top. If your hotel runs high volume, that number rises a bit; if it's quiet, it drops. But it's always real cost, not rent.
And a point almost no one offers: the code, the data, and the infrastructure are 100% yours. We set it up on your accounts. You're not locked in; if tomorrow you want to run it yourself, you can.
Is it worth it? Let's do the math
Let's compare it to the usual alternative: hiring people to cover WhatsApp after hours.
A night shift plus weekend backup is, in most lodging businesses, one or two extra salaries a month — recurring forever, with turnover, training, and the gaps a resignation leaves. In many LATAM markets that recurring expense far exceeds the agent's $200-400 USD/mo operation, and even then a person only covers one shift; the agent covers all three.
Let's put it in perspective with a single booking. If your agent captures even one booking a month that used to slip away at dawn, in most hotels that already covers the monthly operating cost. Everything it captures beyond that is new margin. And the build investment — the $4,500 of MAGIA Solo — amortizes quickly when the agent works around the clock every day of the year.
We won't promise a magic number because we don't invent metrics. What's clear: the agent converts demand that's slipping away today, at an operating cost that's a fraction of a single salary.
There's also a cost that doesn't show up in the calculator: consistency. A guest who gets an answer in seconds, at any hour, with the right information, walks away with a better impression of your hotel before they've even arrived. That clean first experience also weighs on the decision to book with you instead of keeping the search open.
When it IS worth it and when it isn't
Let's be honest. The agent pays off most when:
- You get WhatsApp inquiries consistently.
- You lose messages after hours or during peak times.
- Your team answers the same questions over and over.
- Your booking information lives on a phone, not in a system.
If your hotel gets two messages a month and you answer them effortlessly, you probably don't need it yet. We'd tell you straight. We built this for lodging businesses that already have demand and are leaving it on the table.
How we build it
We use our MAGIA method: Mapping your operation, Architecture of the agent's flow, Generation in your brand's voice, Implementation with your real rates, and Autonomy: we hand it over running on its own, on your infrastructure. On visibility — showing up when someone searches for a place to stay — we work a proprietary technical layer within the same package.
The next step
The best way to judge whether it's worth it is to experience it. Message our own AI agent on WhatsApp and watch it work from the guest's side. And if you want the numbers applied to your hotel — your volume, your operation, your case — book 30 minutes here: https://cal.com/pablo-estrada-hlqaql. We'll tell you frankly whether it's a fit and how it would look.
